You had me at brains.
So far I’m LOVING iZombie. If you’re not caught up iZombie is a new show on the CW loosely, and I mean LOOSELY based on a comic book of the same name. Compared to other “comic book” shows the intro is definitely one of the best. I also love the incorporation of the comic book art style in the show, from the show’s font to the little quips when the scenes change. It’s brilliant and it’s not too in your face that it would turn off non-comic book fans.
And SIDENOTE: In the first scene…shouldn’t she have changed her gloves before just walking around the morgue opening cabinets and touching things??? Or is that just me…
Everything about the most recent episode was all kinds of right. The music and sound especially, it’s phenomenal.
I heart [put heart image here] Ravi as well. I’m not sure if any of you are familiar with a BBC show called Fresh Meat but he TOTALLY reminds me of JP. He’s so witty and I love all his nerdy references. The show’s writers are just spewing awesome all over this show.
SIDENOTE SIDENOTE: So was it just me or did anyone else peep Liv’s Periodic Table shirt with Oxygen and Magnesium. O.MG (…O M G)
I needs that shirt
lol but I couldn’t find any clips on the interwebz and maybe it wasn’t in this episode but I could have sworn it was.
Geek Trivia Note: If you haven’t noticed, the actress the plays Liv Moore, Rose McIver and the actor that plays Blaine, David Anders were/are actors on the show Once Upon A Time (not my fav show but more on that later).
Liv is wonderful, I do feel like she embodies the comic book character she’s based on, with a crap ton more depth. They’ve really done well for themselves her portrayal of the brains she’s eaten, adapting personality traits, emotions and talents. With Blane thrown in there, it’s really got me hooked to figure out what’s going to happen.
Any who…episode 3 The Exterminator is all win.
Best quote: You held that coffee cup with real blue collar machismo!
I only had one complaint about the episode; I’m not sure why Babineaux (the detective) just completely dismisses her “vision” when she first comes to him, even going so far as physic jokes. Sure it was not his case and it’s was all but “solved”, but he didn’t even consider her points, opposite to how he was desperate for her “insight” in the previous episodes.
For those that don’t know or haven’t read I’ll probably do a comparison piece about the show and the comic book. Either way so far this show is totally on my must watch list.
Conclusion: Great adaptation, or horrible deviation for the source material???
Love it or hate it, let me know how you feel about iZombie?
Later dayz,
