Bethesda just dropped the mic at their first E3 showcase! They Revealed DOOM, Dishonored 2, A little more about The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited, Elder Scrolls Legend, Fallout 4, and Fallout Shelter! I have to say this presentation really made me excited about gaming again. There are times when I just feel like nothing is really pulling at me to actually play… and would there ever be a time in my life when video games are on the back burner… I have to say NOPE after this recent showcase from Bethesda I’m just bubbling over with excitement!!
The Bethesda showcase started off with a new DOOM. It looks amazing, the visuals are stunning, and ui is minimalistic yet elegant…and chainsaws!!! Man! Multiplayer combat is going to be insane!!! Not to mention their new edition SnapMap, it lets players create their own gameplay modes, share and play them with others! No word on a release date but it’s hinted at around Spring 2016.
They showcased the Dishonored 2 trailer which was pretty frigging exciting. The biggest highlight was that it wasn’t about Korvo but Emily. I believe that players will get the choice between playing as either of the two but it’s awesome that you’ll get the choice to be a female character and Emily at that!
Bethesda also announced a card call coming out centered around the Elder Scrolls world called Elder Scrolls Legend… though it doesn’t seem that enticing mostly because they didn’t really show anything. But with Hearthstone currently dominating the card game world right now it seems kind of weird for them to announce one. But Elder Scrolls has a diehard fandom so I don’t see it doing terribly.
What everyone was actually waiting for was Fallout 4. And Todd Howard did not disappoint. The Fallout segment of the showcase nearly had me in tears!! One it’s been forever since the last game but it was for a good reason. They’re clearly pulling out all the stops with the latest installment in the Fallout series! For me… dystopian futures are just depressing. Sure I do love the Fallout series but it also does something to my mode to just be in a desolate world. In this new Fallout you’ll get to experience a bit of the world but for shit hits the fan. They’ve introduced a new system for creating your character…which honestly reminds me of the Create A Sim system in the latest Sims 4 but either way it’s definitely going to increase the players ability to design a character they love tenfold. In the latest Fallout game you’ll be sole survivor of vault 111. You’ll also have the ability to create all types of amazing weapons and power suits. The biggest kicker for me is the ability to design your own stronghold!!! The customization in this game is going to be seamless!! They incorporated a drag and drop feature and it’s definitely going to make change and tweaking things a breeze. If that wasn’t enough they developed a standalone mobile game that’s FREE called Fallout Shelter which was available for download from the appstore immediately after the showcase ended and is available for android as well!! They’re also releasing a Pip-Boy with the collectors edition of the game that functions like an actual Pip-Boy with your cellphone. It will also have features that work with the game. Fallout 4 is set to be out on November 10, 2015!
